Perfectionism

Each word, each look, each fleeting chance,

A dance with doubt, a missed romance.

A strive to grow, to evolve and bloom,

To be better and to light the room.

I don’t want it if it is not mine,

Fitting in was never a perfect divine.

The beauty of me, raw and unrefined,

Is where true freedom is finally signed.

So I let go of the chase, the relentless quest,

To be flawless, to pass every test.

For in every crack, every scar that I hold,

Is the real story, both timid and bold.

I let my emotions speak out loud,

I’m only human, and I let them be unbowed.

I embrace what I once feared—

Imperfect, but wholly, unapologetically sincere.

Feminine light and dark side,

My journey is a wonderful ride.

Without desire to be seen.

I accept myself and finally diving in.

My heart is a place of love,

love that is growing and raising above.

My beautiful energy was calling me loudly,

I walk from things that are not aligned with me – proudly.

Perfection was never the prize —

The truth of my heart beat is where true beauty lies.
